Ugly Blonde Nightstand to Sweet Moss Green

I gave up on trying to paint anything blue.  It never matches my home and I always end up repainting.  But for some reason all shades of green love me.  Green doesn’t have that coastal feel that blue does but it just seems to always work well for me.  I have tried blue walls, blue shutters, and a blue door.  The blue has all been repainted to tapestry beige on the walls and black on the shutters and door.

This Thomasville nightstand was a plain boring blonde color.  I wanted to paint it blue but I didn’t bother.  I had some bright green paint and mixed it 1:1 with some leftover black.  It gave me this great moss green color.  It also used to be in our master bedroom but now it’s in the living room as an end table. 

  Did you notice the floors?  I never got around to posting about them.  My husband finished them in June.  They are gorgeous, so much better than carpet.

 

The knobs are from Hobby Lobby, which beside Home Goods is my favorite store.  I got the mason jars from Habitat.  The candles are soy vanilla.  We are asthmatics so no more paraffin candles around here.

I finished my bedroom but couldn’t take any pictures before it got taken over by baskets of laundry to fold.  Uggh!  If am hoping to share it this weekend.

I will need new handles but for now this will have to do...





I have not had a lot of time to work on this so it took me a while to finish. I painted the drawers white and the whole dresser is Olympic High Gloss in Cranberry. I am on a hunt for new handles but for now I sprayed them with Valspar Metallic in Aluminum.

I love how it turned out. It is now one of my favorite things in my house.

I definitely could not imagine this dresser ever looking this good. It smelled so FUNKY after getting it free on Craigslist. I sanded and primed it with Kilz after heavily cleaning it.

I am so excited to put this in my guest room tomorrow!

Procrastinator Party - Preview of Project Plus a Bonus

OK I am still a procrastinator. I am working on the wooden toy boxes still for William's room. I hope they will be finished tomorrow. I just have to paint them.

Here is one of the boxes before painting and making the handles. They will be painted Navy and I will be adding rope handles to keep with the nautical theme...





OK here is the reason my toy boxes aren't done. I have this dresser that I got free on Craigslist. When my sister and I went to pick it up the people were so creepy and even though it was the ugliest thing I've seen we took it and left. For about three months I have been stuck on what to do with it. I decided to paint it and I can always change it if I hate it. It needs another coat of pink and the white is only primer. I need to find drawer pulls too. Well it's almost done so check it out....

Ideas For My Ugly Dresser

OK, I will probably have this painted before I read anyone's opinion. I just need this ugly thing out of my garage and in use.

I have a white bedspread and the walls are mint green. I took some pictures of paint swatches next to the bedspread and wall.

I am leaning towards the raspberry red for the dresser.
